Dear DRBS Families,

We have another exciting week ahead at Dr. Roberta Bondar School! With special visits, learning opportunities, and some Halloween fun on Friday, there is lots to look forward to.

A Heartfelt Thank You!

A huge thank you to all the families who contributed the fabulous food for our staff last Friday! Your generosity and thoughtfulness were so appreciated. Our staff felt very spoiled, and we are grateful to have such a caring and supportive school community!

Halloween Parade and Pumpkin Carving Contest – Friday, October 30

We are looking forward to celebrating Halloween with our students on Friday! Along with our Halloween Parade, we will also be having a Pumpkin Carving Contest, adding a little extra Halloween excitement to our school!

Students are welcome to come to school dressed in their Halloween costumes. We will be holding a Halloween Parade for students during the morning, giving everyone an opportunity to show off their costumes and enjoy some Halloween fun!

To help ensure Halloween is a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for everyone, we ask families to keep the following guidelines in mind:

  • Comfort and practicality: Students will still be participating in regular classroom learning, so costumes should be comfortable enough to sit, move, and complete schoolwork throughout the day.
  • Independence: Please choose costumes that students can manage on their own, particularly when using the washroom or putting on and removing outdoor clothing.
  • School-appropriate costumes: We ask that costumes not be violent, frightening, or overly scary, particularly as we have young students in our school.
  • No weapons: Toy weapons or weapon-like accessories are not permitted at school.
  • No masks: For safety reasons, students should not wear costume masks.

Thank you for helping us make Halloween a fun, inclusive, and positive experience for all our students!
