As we head into the Thanksgiving long weekend, we wish all of our families a wonderful time filled with family, friends, and opportunities to relax and recharge. We hope you enjoy a happy, healthy, and safe long weekend!

School Council – Tuesday, October 13

Our next School Council meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 13, at 6:45 p.m. We warmly invite all parents and guardians to join us. School Council plays an important role in supporting the many wonderful things happening at Dr. Roberta Bondar School, and we would love to see you there!

A huge thank you to our School Council for their generous purchase of dictionaries and thesauruses to supplement our classroom resources. These valuable learning tools will support our students as they continue to develop their vocabulary, writing, and literacy skills. We truly appreciate the ongoing support and generosity of our School Council!

Parent-Teacher Interviews – Booking Opens Today!

A reminder that interview bookings open today, Friday, October 9, at 4:00 p.m. through MyCBE for both online and in-person interviews.

  • Friday, October 16: Online parent-teacher interviews
  • Friday, October 23: In-person parent-teacher interviews

Families are reminded that we can accommodate one interview booking per family due to scheduling and time constraints. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

School Pictures and Retakes

School picture order forms will be coming home in your child's backpack today. Please watch for them!

Picture retakes will take place on Thursday, October 22.

Pumpkin Carving Contest 🎃

It's that time of year again! We are excited to share information about our upcoming school pumpkin carving contest. Please see the attached poster for details. We look forward to seeing the creativity and imagination of our DRBS families!

Halloween Dance and Volunteers
DRBS Halloween Dance - October 24th!
Join us October 24th from 5:30–8:30pm for a fun night of Halloween fun, dancing and community at the school, hosted by the Development Association.

Tickets: Purchase tickets through your oldest child’s Healthy Hunger account.
Please note that all attendees need a ticket, and children must be supervised by their adult throughout the event.

We need volunteers!

Jacket Racket Coat Drive
DRBS is proud to once again participate in the Jacket Racket coat drive campaign this year. As you are revisiting your closets this fall, please keep this in mind.

For the month of October, a donation box will be located in the Launch Pad to collect new or gently used outer winter wear such as winter coats, snowpants, toques, mittens and neck warmers. School aged children, youth and adult sizes are all accepted.

Thanks to your generosity and support, the Jacket Racket program will be able to distribute these items to the many students across the city who are in need of warm winter wear this year.
