Dear DRBS Families,

Thank you so much for your support, patience, and partnership as we have welcomed everyone back for another school year. We have had such a fantastic start-up at Dr. Roberta Bondar School! It has been wonderful to see our hallways filled with smiling faces, reconnect with returning students and families, and welcome all of our new members to the DRBS community.

As we continue settling into our routines, we have a few important reminders and events to share with you.

🚲 Keeping Everyone Safe

Please take a moment to remind your children about bike and pedestrian safety when travelling to and from school.

When walking or riding to school, students need to use the proper crosswalks. If your child is riding a bike, please remind them to get off their bike and walk it across the crosswalk.

For everyone's safety, bikes should also not be ridden down the sidewalk, through the parking lot, or on the field or playground. We have many students and families moving through these areas, and we want to make sure everyone can arrive and leave school safely.

Thank you for helping us reinforce these important habits at home.

❤️ Meet the Teacher – Thursday, September 10

We are so excited to welcome families into the school for Meet the Teacher on Thursday evening!

This will be a drop-in event, so there will be no formal presentation. We encourage you to bring your child, visit their classroom, see their learning space, and take a few minutes to meet their teacher.

To help make the evening enjoyable and manageable for everyone, please stick to the time assigned to your family. This allows everyone equal access to classrooms and teachers and helps us manage the large number of people and parking more effectively.

  • Last names A–L: 5:30–6:15 p.m.
  • Last names M–Z: 6:30–7:15 p.m.

We can't wait to see you!

📋 A Few Important Forms

Please remember to complete your child's student demographic forms by September 11 at the very latest.

If your child has any health concerns, please also complete and submit their health plan as soon as possible. This information is very important in helping us ensure that we are prepared to support your child throughout the school day.

🌦️ Dress for Calgary Weather!

As we all know, Calgary weather can give us a little bit of everything! Please remember that we go outside in all weather, so we ask that students come dressed appropriately for the conditions each day. Layers are always a great choice!
