Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am thrilled to report that in just over one week we have already crushed our $2000 dollar fundraising goal! To date, our school community has raised $4040, where every dollar goes to helping fund lifesaving research. We now rank in the top 15 fundraising schools across Canada with three weeks still to go! As a bonus, the top 25 fundraising schools will receive $500 dollars from the event sponsor, Desjardins, to go toward supplies and P.E. equipment. Let’s keep up the amazing work!
In the Month of February, every dollar raised will be matched by the Birchall family. With that said, if you haven’t already, please consider donating to our school fundraising page linked below before the end of February to double your contribution to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Many students in our school community have started their own personal fundraiser page. This page is connected to our school and can be shared with family and friends to greatly increase contributions and unlock the ability to earn gift cards as well as enter a contest to win 1 of 200 scooters! For example, Vincent in grade 5 has committed to raising $1000 on his own and skipping 100 consecutive days. Way to go Vincent! Check out the ‘Families Corner’ linked below to learn more about how you can start and promote your child’s personal fundraiser page: https://www.jumpropeforheart.ca/families-corner
This week, I shared a video with students about Dr. West, whose research revolutionized heart transplants 30 years ago and continues to impact the lives of so many today. In this heartfelt video, kids saved by this medical breakthrough have a chance to thank her. The money we are raising today will help fund the medical breakthroughs of the future!

As someone new to staff at DRBS this year, I am continually blown away by the amazing students, staff, and families that make up our community. Let’s keep the momentum going!
Have an awesome weekend,
